Both “So Help Me Todd” and “CSI: Vegas” have been canceled at CBS, PvNew has learned.

“So Help Me Todd” is currently airing its second season at the broadcaster, while “CSI: Vegas” is airing its third. Both shows are scheduled to air their season finales in May, which will now serve as series finales.

The two shows were some of the few CBS shows awaiting words on their fates for next season. The only other CBS shows with pending renewal statuses are “The Equalizer” and “NCIS: Hawai’i.” They are both solid performers, with “So Help Me Todd” averaging 7.7 million viewers an episode in multiplatform Live+35 and “CSI: Vegas” averaging 7.6 million. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, CBS simply did not have enough room on the schedule to bring them back.

In addition to its many previously announced renewals, CBS already has a number of new shows set to debut next season. The “Matlock” reboot starring Kathy Bates and the multi-cam comedy “Poppa’s House” starring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. are both waiting in the wings after their premieres were delayed by the dual Hollywood strikes in 2023. CBS has also given out straight-to-series orders to the Sherlock Holmes-inspired “Watson” starring Morris Chestnut, the prequel series “NCIS: Origins,” and a multi-cam spinoff of “Young Sheldon.”

“So Help Me Todd” originally debuted in 2022. The series stars Marcia Gay Harden as a defense attorney, while Skylar Astin plays her son and a skilled private investigator who gets hired by her firm. The cast also includes Madeline Wise, Tristen J. Winger, Inga Schlingmann, and Rosa Arredondo.

Scott Prendergast created the series and serves as executive producer along with Elizabeth Klaviter, Dr. Phil McGraw, and Jay McGraw. CBS Studios produces.

“CSI: Vegas” served as a revival of the original series in the “CSI” franchise, following a new group of investigators in the Las Vegas Crime Lab. Paula Newsome, Matt Lauria, Mandeep Dhillon, Ariana Guerra, Lex Medlin, and Jay Lee starred in the series. Original series stars William Petersen and Jorja Fox reprised the roles of Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle in Season 1, while Marg Helgenberger returned as Catherine Willows beginning in Season 2. Wallace Langham, Paul Guilfoyle, and Eric Szmanda also made guest appearances on the show as their original series characters.

Jason Tracey developed the new iteration and served as executive producer along with Petersen, Jerry Bruckheimer, KristieAnne Reed, and Jonathan Littman of Jerry Bruckheimer Television, original series creator Anthony Zuiker, original series executive producers Carol Mendelsohn, Ann Donahue, and Cynthia Chvatal, as well as Steven H. Kram, Steven H. Blume, and Craig O’Neill. CBS Studios produces.
