CBS has given out a pilot order to the single-camera workplace comedy “DMV,” PvNew has /confirm/ied. In addition, CBS has opened a writers’ room for another single-cam titled “Eternally Yours.”

based on the short story from Katherine Heiny, “DMV” hails from writer Dana Klein, who executive produces with Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling and Robyn Meisinger. According to a series description, “DMV” is “set at the place everyone dreads going most: the DMV. Our quirky and lovable characters are making minimum wage, doing a thankless job where customers are annoyed before they even walk in the door. Good thing they have each other.”

Klein previously created two other sitcoms for CBS entitled “9JKL” and “Freinds with Better Lives,” both of which Kaplan executive produced. “Eternally Yours” is penned by “Ghosts” creators Joe Port and Joe Wiseman who executive produce with Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Jason Wang. Per an official logline, “Eternally Yours” is “an eternal love story about two vampires who have been married for five hundred years, and their struggles to accept the human who is dating their daughter.”

“Ghosts” recently aired its third season on CBS, with the fourth season due to begin airing in October. It was reported out of San Diego Comic-Con that Dean Norris and Mary Holland would be joining the show in Season 4. Other than “Ghosts,” Port and Wiseman have collaborated on several CBS shows, including “The Odd Couple,” “Me Myself & I” and the Robin Williams-led series “The Crazy Ones.”
