CMT and CBS have announced an initial lineup of performers for the CMT Music Awards telecast taking place April 7, with a roster of five stars that includes some of the show’s top nominees.
Lainey Wilson and Jelly Roll, who roll into the awards with three nominations apiece, will each appear on the broadcast.
This first performer lineup also includes three major country stars who are between album cycles — Bailey Zimmerman, Keith Urban and Sam Hunt.
Urban has not released a new album in four years, but already this year he has issued two new tracks, “Straight Line” and “Messed Up as Me,” presumably to tease a forthcoming effort.
Kelsea Ballerini, who is solo-hosting the telecast this year, has previously been announced as a performer on the program.
The show will air live from Austin’s Moody Center on CBS at 8 p.m. ET, delayed for the west coast for the same prime-time slot. It will be available to stream at the same time the show airs locally on CBS affiliates, and on-demand thereafter, for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers. Paramount+ Essential subscribers can access it on-demand starting the day after the show premieres.
