Alec Musser, known for the ABC soap opera “All My Children” and the 2010 comedy film “Grown Ups,” died by suicide due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound, per the San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office. He died at age 50 in his home in Del Mar, Calif.
Musser’s fiancée, Paige Press, last saw him the night of Jan. 12. She found him dead the morning of Jan. 13. Paramedics and law enforcement responded and confirmed Musser’s death.
On her Instagram Story on Jan. 13, Press wrote, “RIP to the love of my life. I will never stop loving you. My heart is so broken.”
Musser’s “Grown Ups” co-stars Adam Sandler and Salma Hayek also paid tribute to Musser on Instagram.
“I loved this guy. Cannot believe he is gone. Such a wonderful, funny good man. Thinking of Alec Musser and his family and sending all my love. A true great sweetheart of a person,” Sandler wrote.
Hayek posted a clip of Musser’s “Grown Ups” scene, in which the chiseled actor emerges from a water park pool and walks over to Hayek’s character and her friends, before opening his mouth to reveal a ridiculous, high-pitched voice. “In loving memory of Alec Musser. He was so kind, professional and absolutely hilarious,” Hayek wrote. “His early departure breaks my heart. I feel so blessed that I got to meet him. My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones for this great loss.”
