Cardi B is on a hot streak of releases, returning with a boastsome new single called “Enough (Miami).”
The song came accompanied by a music video directed by Patience Harding that sees Cardi spitting the song’s punchy lines while sporting a series of looks. This is the second release the Bronx-born rapper has dropped in a matter of weeks, and is the follow-up to her “Like What (Freestyle).”
Although Cardi has not officially announced the arrival of her long-awaited sophomore album (Cardi’s debut “Invasion of Privacy” dropped in 2018), the singer hinted on social media that fans could expect an album later this year. Her two recently released singles feel cohesive enough that they could be the first taste of the incoming project. In “Like What (Freestyle),” Cardi takes aim at her “obsessed” haters, accusing them of imitating her style over a bouncy sample of Missy Elliott’s “She’s A Bitch.” She keeps her usual bold-face flow on “Enough (Miami),” delivering catchy innuendos and quippy rhymes (“I’m gettin’ better and better-er”) over aggressive basslines
“I see my opps linkin’ up, I’m like, ‘What in the fuck?’ / If you scared, then just say that, ho, enough is enough,” Cardi raps confidently. “They was just in my DMs, ain’t no trustin’ these sluts / I’m about to call up Diamond, bitch, knuck if you buck.”
Cardi has been vocal about feeling anxious to release her second full-length project following the massive success of “Invasion of Privacy,” which made her the first female rapper in history to win a Grammy for best rap album in 2019. Still, she’s managed to keep her fans on their toes by releasing various successful singles and collaborations including “I Like It” (2018), “Press” (2019), “WAP” (2020), “Up” (2021) and “Put It On Da Floor Again” with Latto (2023).
