Juno Temple confirmed to PvNew On the Carpet presented by DIRECTV while at the 2024 SAG Awards that “Venom 3” is finally nearing the end of filming. The “Ted Lasso” star is one of the new additions to the “Venom” franchise alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor and Clark Backo in the upcoming third movie, which is being directed by Kelly Marcel and features a story that leading man Tom Hardy co-created.
“We’re coming close to an end at the moment,” Temple said. “It’s been a wild, wonderful ride. It’s so new to me. It’s a big set! This is crazy. It’s been so much fun and I got to work with such cool people. I’ve been so lucky in my career to just have the most incredible casts. I can’t wait for it to get out into the world. I think it’s going to be a good one.”
Production on “Venom 3” was halted by the SAG-AFTRA strike last year. Cameras started rolling again at the end of November just before Thanksgiving.
“Thankfully we are back to shooting; and I want to take a moment just to thank all the teams thus far on the ride from V1 to here all our fantastic cast and crew- good friends and family – we’ve come a long way,”Hardy wrote on social mediaat the time.
“His relationship to how he feels about Venom and Eddie together…its something that feels really close to his heart,” Temple said about why Hardy is the perfect Venom on the big screen. “It matters to him. I don’t know if anyone else could play Venom. That’s a tough pair of shoes to follow.”
“Venom 3” follows the back-to-back box office successes of 2021’s “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” ($502 million globally) and 2018’s “Venom” ($856 million globally). Marcel penned the first two films.
“Venom 3” is scheduled to open in theaters November8 from Sony.
