Lena Dunham‘s Netflix comedy series “Too Much” has filled out its cast with a star-studded lineup, PvNew has learned exclusively.
Joining previously announced series leads Megan Stalter and Will Sharpe will be: Richard E. Grant (“Saltburn”), Stephen Fry (“The Dropout”), Janicza Bravo (“Sharp Stick”), Michael Zegen (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”), Rhea Perlman (“Cheers”), Rita Wilson (“Sleepless in Seattle”), Leo Reich (“Leo Reich: Literally Who Cares?!”), Adele Exarchopoulos (“Passages”), Adwoa Aboah (“Top Boy”), Daisy Bevan (“The Alienist”), Dean-Charles Chapman (“1917”), Kaori Momoi (“The Brightest Roof in the Universe”) and Prasanna Puwanarajah (“The Crown”). It is also confirmed that Emily Ratajkowski will appear in the series after PvNew exclusively reported she was in final talks to join in early February.
The official description of the series states:
“Jessica (Stalter) is a New York workaholic in her mid-thirties, reeling from a broken relationship that she thought would last forever and slowly isolating everyone she knows. When every block in New York tells a story of her own bad behaviour, the only solution is to take a job in London, where she plans to live a life of solitude like a Bronte sister. But when she meets Felix (Sharpe) – a walking series of red flags – she finds that their unusual connection is impossible to ignore, even as it creates more problems than it solves. Now they have to ask themselves: do Americans and Brits actually speak the same language?”
Netflix has ordered 10 episodes of the half-hour comedy series. Dunham co-created “Too Much” with her husband, Luis Felber. Dunham is also credited as writer, executive producer, and director. Felber is also an executive producer, while his band Attawalpa will provide original music for the show. Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Michael P. Cohen, Surian Fletcher-Jones, and Bruce Eric Kaplan also executive produce. Camilla Bray will serve as producer. The series hails from Universal International Studios’ Working Title Television as well as Dunham’s Good Thing Going banner.
