Sofia Vergara’s “Griselda” was the most-streamed title in the U.S. during the week of Jan. 22-28. In its first four days of availability on Netflix, the series was watched for 1.6 billion minutes.
This is only the fifth time a streaming original series has taken the No. 1 spot on Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings since October, when “Suits” finally began its decline as “The Fall of the House of Usher” debuted. Even after the 15 weeks of first place wins for “Suits,” acquired titles such as “Bluey” and “Young Sheldon” have dominated the chart.
As such the next four spots on the chart are acquired titles: “Bluey” was No. 2 with 1.3 billion minutes watched, followed by “Grey’s Anatomy” with just under 1 billion minutes, “Young Sheldon” with 984 million and “This Is Us” with 776 million.
“Reacher” was next on the chart, taking No. 6 overall and No. 2 on the originals chart. The Amazon Prime Video series was streamed for 741 million minutes during the Jan. 22-28 window, which marked the first full week of availability for the Season 2 finale.
No. 7 went to “The Hill,” a Dennis Quaid-led sports film that had its theatrical debut in August and reached 736 million minutes watched after being added to Netflix.
“The Big Bang Theory” saw a bump on Max, taking eighth place with 690 million minutes watched, and was followed by “American Nightmare” (676 million minutes) and “Fool Me Once” (669 million minutes).
