‘Mean Girls’ Pop-Up Dining Experience to Debut in Los Angeles and New York

It’s time to make “fetch” happen — or, at least, time to eat “fetch” food.

In anticipation of the new “Mean Girls” movie, the media experience brand Bucket Listers is launching their “Mean Girls Experience” in Los Angeles and New York.

The pop-up dining experience will debut in Los Angeles on Jan. 12 — the same day the Paramount Pictures movie premieres in theaters — and in New York on Jan. 19. Venues, exact dates and time slots are yet to be announced.

Like the original 2004 film and the Broadway musical, “Mean Girls” follows Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) as she enters the world of high school and falls into the superficial world of The Plastics, led by Regina George (Reneé Rapp), who rule the school. After Cady develops a crush on Regina’s ex-boyfriend, Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), she finds herself at the center of a plot to sabotage Regina and manifest her downfall in the high school social hierarchy.

Described as a “fast-casual restaurant of chef-driven cafeteria-style fare,” the “Mean Girls Experience” will bring North Shore High School to life with their selection of delicacies created by “MasterChef” semi-finalist chef Becky Brown. Dishes are aptly named after the movie’s most iconic lines and moments, such as the “Burn Book Burger Sliders” and the “Stab Caesar Salad.” Desserts include the “Kälteen Brownie,” “Rainbow + Smiles Cake,” the “Fetch Strudel” and the “Is Butter a Carb? cookies.”

In addition to the dining experience, attendees will be able to take photos amid recreations of the film’s sets and explore the “Mean Girls” Museum of set pieces and outfits. Happy hour at the “Cool Mom Bar” will be from 4-6, and “Jingle Bell Rock” lovers can strut their stuff on stage at the Winter Talent Show. In true Regina George fashion, there will also be plenty of shopping to be done with exclusive merchandise available to purchase.

“There was nothing more grool than the chance to bring the world of ‘Mean Girls’ to life,” stated Derek Berry, president of experiences at Bucket Listers. “It’s truly one of those movies that has stood the test of time and cult fandom. With the new film quickly approaching, there was no better time to honor this beloved classic and bring The Plastics’ world to life. Every day here will be October 3rd.”

Tickets will be available exclusively through Bucket Listers and start at $35 per person. Each reservation includes a 90-minute allotted time slot, one choice of entree and a side item and a Candy Cane gram. For now, hopeful attendees can join the waitlist online for both LA and NY locations.
