Mariel Semonte Orr, an Atlanta rapper better known by his stage name Trouble, has died at 34.
The “Bring It Back” rapper, who was also known as Skoob, was reportedly caught in a fatal shooting altercation early Sunday morning. During a press conference with Rockdale County Sheriff’s spokesperson Jedida Canty, it was confirmed that Orr had been shot in the chest at an apartment complex during a visit with a female friend.
Canty also confirmed a suspect by the name of Jamichael Jones, who currently has warrants out for his arrest and for felony murder, home invasion and aggravated assault. Although Orr did not know the suspect, Jones was connected to the female on the scene, classifying this as a “domestic situation.”
Orr had performed the night before, only hours before the incident. The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office also confirmed to WSB-TV Atlanta that the rapper was taken to a local hospital after being shot, but he had died on the scene.
Orr’s death was confirmed by his label, Def Jam Recordings, in a post on Sunday morning.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the children, loved ones and fans of Trouble,” the label wrote. “A true voice for his city and an inspiration to the community he proudly represented.”

One day before his death, the rapper tweeted he would be navigating the Atlanta streets with caution. He wrote: “Its toooooooo many 12 of for me tonight IM GOIN HOME!! Yall move smoove outchea.”
