Almost literally at the last minute, Arcade Fire have been announced as performers at the Coachella Music & Artist Festival taking place in Indio, California this and next weekends. The group will perform on Friday — yes, tomorrow.
The appearahce was announced in a tweetfrom the official Coachella account, and Arcade Fire’s own Twitter accountposteda photo of frontman Win Butler in front of a palm tree, with the caption: “Decided to spend my birthday somewhere warm and dry.”
Arcade Fire will perform from 6:45-7:45 p.m. in the Mojave tent, sandwiched in between sets from Carly Rae Jepsen and Idles. The group joins a stacked bill tomorrow that features a headline performance from Harry Styles, as well as sets from Phoebe Bridgers, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Spiritualized, Daniel Caesar, Lil Baby, the Avalanches, Peggy Gou, Madeon and Big Sean, among many others.
