Fox News Media named Fox Nation chief Jason Klarman its chief digital officer as part of a series of executive moves that reassign some oversight of the Fox Business Network and the Fox Nation streaming service. Lauren Petterson, the Fox Business Network president, was moved to a top Fox Nation while Porter Berry, a longtime producer who has worked closely with Sean Hannity, was elevated to president of Fox News Digital and Editor-In-Chief from an executive vice president role. Jay Wallace, Fox News Media’s president, will take the full reigns of Fox Business as part of the moves.
In other changes, Megan Albano was named executive vice president of morning programming and program development while Gavin Hadden was named senior vice president of Fox Nation.
“As we move our thriving business forward, we are reimagining the roles of some of our most talented executives to solidify our incredibly successful digital platforms for further growth and expansion,” said Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News Media, in a statement.
The moves suggest new prominence for the company’s digital businesses, with Klarman’s role encompassing a broader array of new Fox News Media initiatives. In recent years, Scott and her team have tried to broaden the Fox News portfolio to encompass several streaming and broadband products aimed at international viewers; weather aficionados; and even comedy. Petterson, who retains a concurrent job as head of talent development for the Fox Corp. unit, will focus more of that on the streaming service, which has increasingly been taking Fox News into lifestyle and documentary programming.
Klarman was named president of Fox Nation in 2021, and has steered the service into non-fiction programming and series that encompass comedy, nature, and exploration, in addition to the red-meat politics for which Fox News is best known. Under his aegis, celebrities including Dennis Quaid, Rob Lowe and Kevin Costner have taken part in projects. Klarman, who was part of the original team that launched Fox News in 1996, rejoined the company as a consultant in 2018 and was named the executive vice president of marketing in 2019.
Petterson has served as the President of Fox Business since 2019. During her tenure, Fox Business moved away from straight-politics shows in primetime and began expanding into documentary and lifestyle series. She also was involved with the launch of former CNBC host and Trump administration official Larry Kudlow in the early evenings. Petterson previously served as the senior vice president of morning programming and talent development, and ran “Fox & Friends: for 11 of its 22 years on air.
Berry has run Fox News Digital since 2018. He has overseen all Fox News digital content,includingFoxNews,FoxBusinessand the company’s socialmedia channels. He previously was an executive producer of both “Hannity” and “The Five.”
