Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks are open to the idea of having their own talk show one day — but it would have to be in their home of Nashville, Tenn.

When promoting her new cookbook, “Trisha’s Kitchen,” on TalkShopLive Saturday, Yearwood opened up about the possibility of hosting a show with husband Brooks. The two recently guest hosted for Ellen DeGeneres on May 28, proving they just might have what it takes to host full-time. Yearwood pointed out that when filming her cooking show, “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen,” Food Network was able to come to her, and that it would be ideal if a talk show could do the same.

“The one caveat for me is it would have to be in Nashville. It was really fun, he and I had a really good time doing that together. But everything’s based out of here,” Yearwood said. “When we first started doing the cooking show we were living Oklahoma, and I told Food Network I would love to do the show, but I’m living in Oklahoma. Well, they came to Oklahoma and we filmed there, but now that we’re in Nashville we film the show here. To be able to film the show then go home at night is important, so I would not say that it’s something we wouldn’t consider but I think they’d have to come to us.”

If the show could take place in Nashville, Yearwood would be all for it. She pointed out that though it’s not Los Angeles, Nashville has plenty of resident celebrities that the two could interview.

“It would actually be easy for guests, especially artists, because so many people live here. Not just country artists, a lot of artists from all forms of music live in this town,” Yearwood said. “So I’m just sayin’, Nashville’s a cool city. Think about it guys, think about it!”

Brooks is set to be recognized for his achievements in music on Sunday at the Kennedy Center Honors, airing at 8 p.m. on CBS. Debbie Allen, Joan Baez, Dick Van Dyke and Midori are also honorees, while Kelly Clarkson, Derek Hough, Vanessa Hudgens, Pentatonix, Gladys Knight, Emmylou Harris, Jimmie Allen and Yo-Yo Ma will perform at the event.
