In celebration of Latino Heritage Month, MAX will be spotlighting Latin voices and talent through a series of special programing beginning Sept. 15.
According to the streamer, “Max will be ‘Celebrando Nuestra Comunidad,’ amplifying voices that uplift and inspire and spotlighting Latino talent and programming across Max brand social channels, led by Max’s Pa’lante!”
The collection titled “Nuestras Voces” will feature the following categories: Finding Inspiración,Leading Latinos, Laughing in Jajaja, Las Protagonistas, Family Is Everything, Siempre Proud, and Our Cultura, Our Historia. The HBO original documentary “The Golden Boy: Oscar De La Hoya,” the HBO original “Shakira in Concert: El Dorado World Tour,” the HBO original films “Habla Loud” and “Romeo Santos: King of Bachata,” and the Max original series “Selena + Chef” and “Vgly”are among the shows being highlighted. Additionally, TLC’s “The Family Chantel” and CNN’s “Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico” will be available to stream.
Max will also be highlighting all of the winners of their Latino Short Film Competition. These seven films include Rodrigo Olivar’s “Thank You, Have A Nice Day,” Olivia De Camps’ “Chico Virtual,” Zahida Pirani’s “El Carrito,” Mariana Serrano’s “Un Pequeño Corte,” Kryzz Gautier’s “Keep/Delete,” Maria Mealla’s “La Macana” and Yessenia Sanchez’s “Double Cultura.” These titles will be available on Sept. 18.
Additionally, Max is partnering with Buzzfeed to host a classic Latino movie marathon held at the New York Rooftop Cinema Club. It will comprise of three sessions on Sept. 29 and is open to the public.
Max will commence their celebration of Latino creators and voices with a sizzle reel including some of their featured content, from the zombie apocalypse series “The Last of Us” with Pedro Pascal to the drama film “The Fallout” with Jenna Ortega. Max will also be starting a collaboration with @PalanteMax socials, interacting with Latino creators throughout the month.
