Actors Anthony Ramos and Leslie Grace, Lynette Coll, Jairo Alvarado and Santiago Zapata have been tapped to help curate a lineup for the Nvision Latino Film and Music Festival, an evolution of the Official Latino Film Festival.

Tommy Mottolaand Lex Borrero, founders of the Latin content engine Ntertain, acquired the 10-year-old festival earlier this April. The event, set to take place Oct. 10-12 at the Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Springs, Calif., has recognized hundreds of award recipients and presented thousands of films across the Latin diaspora.

“To truly make an impact, we must change the narrative and perception of who we are and what we can create as a culture and community,” Borrero said in a statement to PvNew. “This is the goal of Nvision. We are setting out to build a platform that provides a premier stage to showcase the best our creatives have to offer while leading the conversation on artistic innovation in film, music, art and technology. Not to mention create an unforgettable experience that empowers community and where we can all have fun; after all, life is short.”

Ramos, an actor and artist known for his roles in “Transformers: Rise of the Beast” and “Twister,” joins the 2024 selection comittee along with Grace, also an actor and a multi-Latin Grammy nominee known for her roles in “In the Heights” and “In The Summers.” Also: Coll, Co-CEO of LUZ Films; Alvarado, a partner at Redefine Ent. and veteran manager and film producer; and Zapata, vice president of production and development at Ntertain Studios and a veteran film producer of Sundance’s World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Award winner “Monos.”

“As artists and producers, we believe the more opportunities we have to experience art communally, the more impactful it becomes,” said Grace and Coll. “Now more than ever, we need spaces curated with thought and intention that bring us together to uplift and celebrate each other’s work! Joining the selection community at Nvision is an opportunity to keep shaping the narrative and cultivate a space where our voices are heard, our experiences are honored, and our dreams are realized.”

Miguel Melendez, a Westbrook founder and veteran executive producer, additionally joins the board members that includes Borrero, Mottola and founder Danny Hastings.
