Distribution and production banner Signature Entertainment has promoted two of its most senior execs.
Elizabeth Williams has been upped to chief commercial officer from her previously title of director of acquisitions and TV, and willcontinues to be responsible for these elements in her new role. Gareth Williams (no relation), who joined the company in 2012 shortly after it was founded and was promoted last year to chief finance officer, has been made chief operating officer.
“I couldn’t be more delighted to see Liz and Gareth be handed these new roles within the company,” Signature CEO Marc Goldberg said in a statement. “Liz is one of the brightest lights in the industry and has been running point on all areas of acquisitions for several years. She has a remarkable understanding of the market and a breadth of expertise across all areas of the Signature business.”
Added Goldberg: “Gareth was one of the first employees of the company, he has built and overseen all the financial responsibilities expertly and has been heavily involved in key commercial decisions across distribution and production. As the company continues to grow, Liz and Gareth are perfectly placed to help Signature continue to achieve success.”
Elizabeth Williams, whose acquisitions for Signature have included “Orphan: First Kill,” “Escape from Pretoria” and the “Terrifier” franchise, said she was “looking forward to helping Marc and the team in taking Signature to the next stage in its growth towards studio status.”
