“The Librarians: The Next Chapter” is no longer scheduled to air on The CW this fall, PvNew has /confirm/ied.
The series was originally slated to debut on the broadcast network on Oct. 24 following “Superman & Lois.” However, The CW announced instead that the docuseries “The Wranglers” will air in the 9 p.m. timeslot on Oct. 24. No new premiere date has been set for “The Librarians: The Next Chapter” at the time of this publishing.
The series served as a spinoff of the TNT series “The Librarians,” which was itself a spinoff of the “Librarian” TNT film series starring Noah Wyle. The new show was first announced at The CW in 2023.

As with the original series and films, the show centers on the people responsible for maintaining the mythical Library, which serves as a storehouse for powerful and dangerous artifacts.
“The Next Chapter” stars Callum McGowan, Jessica Green, Olivia Morris, and Bluey Robinson.
Per the official logline, the new series centers on Vikram (McGowan), “a Librarian from the past, who time traveled to the present and now finds himself stuck here. When he returns to his castle, which is now a museum, he inadvertently releases magic across the continent. He is given a new team to help him clean up the mess he made, forming a new team of Librarians.”
Dean Devlin is the showrunner and executive producer alongside Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan-Wilson of Electric Entertainment. Wyle also serves as executive producer. Mark Franco of Electric Entertainment and Jonathan English of Balkanic Media also produce.
