Harvey Keitel and Britt Robertson have teamed for comedy-drama “The Letter,” now in its final week of filming in Buenos Aires, with Rodrigo H. Vila directing.

Written by Vila and Sebastián Meschengieser with script collaboration from Andy Weiss, the film follows Finn (Keitel), an old war veteran, who wants to write a goodbye letter to his only daughter. He decides to hire failed writer Julia (Robertson), who is desperate for money. The two, each feeling lost in their own ways, form an unusual yet endearing friendship that ultimately transforms both their lives.

“The Letter” marks the second collaboration between writer, director and producer Vila and Keitel. The two first worked together on the 2019 sci-fi thriller “The Last Man.”Harvey Keitel, Britt Robertson Team for Comedy-Drama ‘The Letter’ From Director Rodrigo H. Vila

“I’ve worked with Harvey in the past, and we promised to make another film together,” Vila said. “This film, crafted specifically for him, has the potential to be a small gem that moves, brings laughter, tears and encourages reflection on life’s little things — perhaps the most significant ones.”

The film is produced by the Argentinian companies Cinema 7 Films and Non Stop Studios, and executive produced by Dalila Zaritzki and Colette Aguilar (“Marlowe”). Aguilar is CEO of the Madrid-based English-language specialist Moonrise, which is representing the film for worldwide sales.

“We are excited to continue our collaboration with Cinema 7 Films,” Aguilar said. “The script immediately drew us in with its charm and heartfelt narrative. Featuring a wonderful cast, this film will undoubtedly resonate with audiences across generations. We can’t wait to bring it to the global market.”

The film is backed by private equity financing and is structured as an Argentinian co production.Executive producers include Screen Capital, Chris D’Cruz, Monica Ruffo and Aristotle Andulakis.

An Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner, Keitel —best known for classics including “Reservoir Dogs,” “Taxi Driver” and “Mean Streets” —was recently seen in the Peacock drama series “The Tattooist of Auschwitz.” He is represented by Twelve Entertainment and Untitled Entertainment. Robertson, meanwhile, starred opposite George Clooney in “Tomorrowland,” recently led ABC spinoff series “The Rookie: Feds” and will soon appear in “The Merry Gentleman” alongside Chad Michael Murray. She is repped by Innovative Artists, and Moonrise by Gersh Agency.
