Netflix is rapidly expanding its Korean unscripted TV content slate. It will launch ten shows this year, more than double the number from 2022. They range from romance to cooking and comedy.

Yoo Ki-hwan director of content at Netflix Korea, says quantity was not the goal. “It’s important to be loved locally first before we can win over global audiences. Each show has its own unique appeal that matches what they want,” he said.

The new slate kicks off with “The Influencer,”debuting on Aug. 6, followed by“A-List to Playlist,” chronicling actor Cho Jung-seok’s journey to debut as a singer.
