Apple TV+ has dropped the first trailer for the comedy series “Bad Monkey” starring Vince Vaughn.
The series is based on Carl Hiaasen’s bestselling book of the same name. Vaughn stars as Andrew Yancy, “who has been bounced from the Miami Police Department and is now a health inspector in the Keys,” per the official series description. “But after stumbling upon a case that begins with a human arm fished up by tourists, he realizes that if he can prove murder, he’ll be back in. He just needs to get past a trove of Floridian oddballs and one bad monkey.”
“Bad Monkey” will premiere on Aug. 14 with its first two episodes, with new episodes dropping weekly thereafter until the finale on Oct. 9.

The series hails from Bill Lawrence, who previously collaborated with Apple on the hit series “Ted Lasso” as well as the streamer’s current series “Shrinking.”
Along with Vaugh, the cast includes L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, Michelle Monaghan, Ronald Peet, and Jodie Turner-Smith, with special guest star John Ortiz and guest stars Zach Braff, Ashley Nicole Black, Scott Glenn, and Charlotte Lawrence in her television debut.
Lawrence developed the series for television and serves as executive producer and showrunner. Vaughn executive produces in addition to starring. Jeff Ingold and Lisa Katzer executive produce via Lawrence’s Doozer Productions. Matt Tarses and Marcos Siega are also executive producers. Warner Bros. Television, where Doozer is under an overall deal, produces the series.
