Industry veteran Chris Cole has been appointed chief operating officer of ScreenFund. Cole brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as a producer of feature films and television, as well as a media and entertainment consultant. His background includes executive producer roles on co-productions with major studios and streaming platforms such as Warner Bros., Sony, Universal, Netflix, Amazon and Lionsgate. His recent production “Americana” premiered at SXSW.

ScreenFund will offer financing options tailored to filmmakers and producers, including bridge loans, finishing funds, senior debt loans and loans against pre-sales and tax credits. The company plans to support productions from pre-production through post-production.

In addition to ScreenFund, The Screen Company plans to launch ScreenSales and ScreenBonds imminently.

Brown is an independent producer and financier known for his work on critically acclaimed projects. He produced HBO’s “The Fallout,” starring Jenna Ortega, Maddie Ziegler and Shailene Woodley, which won the grand jury prize for narrative feature at SXSW in 2021. Brown was also an executive producer on Sundance title “After the Wedding,” featuring Julianne Moore, Michelle Williams and Billy Crudup.

Brown stated, “I believe in the power of storytelling, so I created The Screen Company. Our mission is to provide reliable and flexible financing that brings extraordinary stories to life. Our finance arm, ScreenFund, is more than just a lender; we are your partners in the creative journey, committed to supporting you every step of the way. The Screen Company was founded on three core principles: innovation, transparency and creativity.”

The Screen Company is represented by Jason Karlov and Carolyn Hunt from Barnes & Thornburg LLP. Additional executive hires are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
