Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming horror thriller “The Deliverance,” starring Andra Day, Glenn Close, Caleb McLaughlin, Mo’Nique and Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor. The film follows a family living in Indiana who are plagued by supernatural and demonic occurrences that lead them and their community to believe their house is a portal to hell.
“The Deliverance” marks the second collaboration between director Lee Daniels and Day, with their first being the 2021 drama “The United States vs. Billie Holiday.” Day went on to be nominated for best performance by an actress in a leading role at the 2021 Academy Awards for her portrayal of the iconic jazz singer.
It was recently announced that Glenn Close will appear alongside Daniel Craig in Rian Johnson’s third “Knives Out” installment “Wake Up Dead Man.” Her other upcoming projects include “Brothers,” “Back in Action,” “Encore,” “The Summer Book” and a musical reimagining of the 1950 classic “Sunset Boulevard” where she will star as aging silent film star Norma Desmond.
Daniels helmed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with David Coggeshall and Elijah Bynum. “The Deliverance” is produced by Daniels, Tucker Tooley, Pamela Oas Williams, Todd Crites, Jeremey Green, Lisa C. Satriano and Jackson Nguyen. Executive producers include Gregoire Gensollen, Greg Renker, Jackie Shenoo and Hilary Shor.
