Doodles, the entertainment company that counts Pharrell Williams as chief branding officer, has announced the formation of Doodles Records in partnership with Sony’s Orchard to release its first project, the “Dullsville and the Doodleverse” soundtrack.
Doodles Records is commemorating its launch with the release of its first EP, a three-song original soundtrack for “Dullsville and the Doodleverse,” a short film with the same name debuting later this year. The EP will include Coi Leray and Pharrell’s “Not in the Store,” releasing in early August; Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty and Kyle Richh’s “Can’t Hold Me Down” in late August; and Swae Lee, Lil Yachty and Pharrell’s “Doodleverse (Draw Me Closer)” in September.

“Music is and will continue to be a core pillar of Doodles, so we’re thrilled to announce the official formation of Doodles Records,” says CEO of Doodles Julian Holguin. “Releasing music with some of the most legendary and relevant artists in the world on our first project is a dream come true and a massive source of pride. Moving forward, we will fuse music, animation and technology to create groundbreaking content experiences that will empower artists and their communities.”
As part of each Doodles Records release, songs and albums will be accompanied by animated videos creative directed by Doodles founder Burnt Toast in partnership with its in-house animation studio Golden Wolf. The short film “Dullsville and the Doodleverse” will premiere this October.
In tandem with the label announcement, Doodles revealed its direct-to-community platform DoodlesTV, giving fans early access to music releases, video premieres and more. Fans can purchase a DoodlesTV season one all-access media pass next week, giving an early viewing to “Dullsville and the Doodleverse.”
