“Outer Range” has been canceled at Amazon Prime Video, PvNew has /confirm/ied.
The series aired on the streamer for two seasons. The first season debuted in 2022, while the second season dropped in its entirety in May.
Josh Brolin led the cast, which also included Imogen Poots, Lili Taylor, Tamara Podemski, Lewis Pullman, Tom Pelphrey, Noah Reid, Shaun Sipos, Isabel Arraiza, Olive Abercrombie, and Will Patton.
Charles Murray served as showrunner and executive producer. Brolin was also an executive producer in addition to starring. Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Ernest McNealey, Tony Krantz, Heather Rae, and Jon Paré also executive produced.

The official description of the series states, “‘Outer Range’ centers on Royal Abbott (Brolin), a rancher fighting for his land and family, who discovers an unfathomable phenomenon at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness, in the form of a dark void. The mystery surrounding the enigmatic void on the west pasture of the Abbott family ranch deepens in Season Two, as Royal and his wife Cecelia (Taylor) struggle to keep their family together in the aftermath of their granddaughter’s sudden disappearance. The stakes have never been higher for the Abbotts, who now face threats on multiple fronts.”
Amazon does not release viewership information for their shows, though “Outer Range” did make it into the Nielsen Top 10 original streaming rankings, peaking at the number three spot in the week after its premiere. The show also received solid reviews from critics, with the two seasons averaging an 85% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
