Top drama contenders include Disney+’s “Ahsoka”; Netflix’s “The Crown” and “3 Body Problem”; Prime Video’s “Fallout” and “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”; Apple TV+’s “The Morning Show” and FX’s “Shōgun” — with PvNew’s senior awards editor Clayton Davis predicting that it will be feted with the top honor.

In the comedy category, ABC’s “Abbott Elementary,” Hulu’s “only Murders in the Building,” Max’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Hacks,” Apple TV+’s “Loot,” Netflix’s “The Gentlemen,” FX’s “What We Do in the Shadows” and comedy hit (and last year’s Emmy winner) “The Bear” are all considered shoe-ins.
Davis predicts Shōgun will reign supreme, followed by its FX counterpart “The Bear” and Prime Video’s “Fallout.” However, given the sheer volume of series and performers, Davis predicts that Netflix will have the most nominations of any network.
Three shows dominated last year’s Emmy Awards: “Succession,” “The Bear” and “Beef.” Each show nearly swept its respective category in the drama, comedy and limited series races. “Succession” and “The Bear” tied with a leading six wins each, and “Beef” followed closely with five trophies.
