Actress Kate Beckinsale fired back on social media after one Instagram user made comments about her weight.
Beckinsale shared a video on Instagram of her tying up her hair in a net while wearing a pink ensemble with the caption: “Let’s have a toast for the douchebags. Let’s have a toast for the assholes. Let’s have a toast for the scumbags.”
In the post, she explained to someone off-camera that she was putting her hair in a net because a number of her followers had complained about not doing “age-appropriate things.” In the comments, one user told the actress to “Go do some squats. I think ur ass ran away.”

Beckinsale would also address the body shamer in her comments, writing that her recent weight loss was due to “stress and grief” relating to her watching her stepfather dying “quite shockingly” and her mother having stage 4 cancer.
“I lost a lot of weight from stress and grief, quite quickly and then I was in the hospital for six weeks because the grief had burned a hole in my oesophagus which made me vomit copious amounts of blood,” Beckinsale posted. “I found eating very hard and I just worked very very hard on a movie that was actually quite triggering because it also involved the theme of the death of my father.”
“So l’m not really concerned about what you think about my ass,” she continued. “Maybe you should worry about your own fucking ass. I suggest shoving something up it-like a large pineapple or a brick.”
