Rapper Quavo has partnered with Vice President Kamala Harris and the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention for the inaugural Rocket Foundation Summit, taking place in Atlanta, GA on June 18.
The event is set to honor Quavo‘s former Migos group member and nephew Takeoff, who was killed in 2022, on the late rapper’s 30th birthday, and pay homage to the countless victims of gun violence in an effort to make Quavo’s hometown of Atlanta a model for gun violence reduction.
During the summit, Quavo will sit down with Harris for a fireside chat to discuss the methods and approaches that must be taken to decrease gun violence and protect communities. The two last met in September to discuss gun control through Quavo and his family’s involvement in the Congressional Black Caucus in Washington, D.C. The next day, the White House launched the Office of Gun Violence Prevention, and its Deputy Director Greg Jackson is slated to moderate the fireside chat.
