“Truth Serum,” a short film starring “Baby Reindeer” creator Richard Gadd, has been snapped up by Omeleto.
Directed by Vika Evdokimenko, “Truth Serum” is a comedy that follows a group of guests at a housewarming party who are slipped a mysterious drug. “When ugly truths start to emerge, chaos reigns and threatens the relationships of old friends,” reads the logline.
“Baby Reindeer” fans will no doubt enjoy seeing Gadd playing a character that is not dissimilar to the Netflix series’ Donny Dunn. Gadd’s character of Jimi is friends with the host couple; he is described as a “liability” whose “self-destructive behavior masks deep self-loathing and a secret that’s not ready to come out.”
Gadd stars alongside Olivia Vinall (“Road Kill”) as a party hostess at the end of her tether and Sophie Kennedy Clark (“The Danish Girl”) as an unreformed party girl who’s dragged her underage daughter along for the ride.

Umi Myers (“Bob Marley: One Love”), Killian Kyle (“Normal People”), Danny Ashok (“Feel Good”) and Miranda Beinart-Smith (“Notes on Blindness”) also star.
“Truth Serum” was written and produced by Oliver Shuster (“What’s Up With Fred?”). Timothy Evans and Frankie Fogg produced and cast the project.
Evdokimenko, who has been mentored by Rebecca Miller and Spike Lee, has been nominated for a number of advertising awards and screened worldwide. Her next short film is titled “Borsch.” She is also the founder of production company AnfanTerrible.
Gadd is currently working on BBC drama “Lions,” a six-part series about two men across the decades from Banijay U.K. label Mam Tor Productions.
“Truth Serum” is set to hit YouTube short film distributor Omeleto on June 17.
