A24 is rounding out the cast of Sally Hawkins-led “Bring Her Back,” from “Talk to Me” directors Danny and Michael Philippou.

“Invasion” actor Billy Barratt will star opposite Hawkins. His previous credits include “Crater” and “A Christmas Carol.” Barratt will next be seen in “Kraven the Hunter” with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, portraying the young version of Dmitri Smerdyakov, who later becomes the supervillain Chameleon. In 2020, he became the youngest person to win an International Emmy for Best Actor, recognized for his role in “Responsible Child.”

Also joining the “Bring Her Back” cast are Jonah Wren Phillips (“Sweet Tooth”), Sally-Anne Upton (“Wentworth”), Stephen Phillips (“The Leftovers”) and newcomer Sora Wong.

Plot details for the original horror film, which reteams A24 with the Philippous and Causeway Films, are being kept under wraps.

The Philippous’ “Talk to Me” was A24’s breakout film of summer 2023, becoming the studio’s highest-grossing horror film domestically.

PvNew‘s William Earl ranked “Talk to Me” among the best horror movies of 2023, writing, “The Philippou brothers keep everything off-kilter: All of the characters are worth caring about, even the annoying ones; places of refuge like hospitals and well-lit parties become insidious quickly; and there is a very real sense that this is exactly how dumb, young teens would act if they could easily pierce the veil between the living and the dead.”

The twin directors are also developing a sequel for the studio, and a documentary project inspired by their own journey into the world of international underground deathmatch wrestling.

“Bring Her Back,” which will begin production in this summer, is produced by Causeway Films’ Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton.
