Rahim spoke to PvNew briefly about his role in “Monsieur Aznavour” while promoting Ridley Scott’s “Napoleon” (in which he stars as Paul Barras) and said it was a “memorable experience.” “It gave me an immense pleasure to work with this team and play this emblematic character which seemed an insurmountable challenge at first,” Rahim revealed.
Kallouche previously told PvNew that Rahim was the ideal actor to play the part of Aznavour, as they share many similarities, “the same sensibility, drive and passion for their work, as well as a malicious gaze.” They’ve also had to overcome adversity to achieve success. Rahim broke through at the age of 28 with his performance in “A Prophet,” which won a prize at Cannes, an Oscar nomination and earned him a Cesar Award. He now works with some of the world’s biggest filmmakers.
“Monsieur Aznavour” is represented in international markets by Playtime.
