Veteran unscripted producer Jeff Collins (“Dance Moms”) has sealed an overall deal with Sony Pictures Television – Nonfiction. Under the pact, Collins and his newly launched Resilient Content shingle will focus on creating unscripted programming and developing formats for broadcast, cable and streaming.

“Jeff has a track record of identifying great characters and fascinating environments that lend themselves to hit reality shows,” Sony Pictures Television – Nonfiction prexy Eli Holzman and co-prez Aaron Saidman said in a joint statement. “His slate is an excellent complement to SPT Nonfiction’s existing portfolio, and we look forward to supporting him in bringing his unique brand of content to networks, streamers, and a global audience hungry for great TV.”

The relationship with Resilient Content comes as SPTNF also recently launched a joint venture with Brass Monkeys Media. The nonfiction group also has ownership interests in or with Sharp Entertainment, The Intellectual Property Corporation, B17 Entertainment, 19 Entertainment, This Machine, Maxine Productions and UnConventional Entertainment.

“I’ve been a huge fan of Eli and Arron’s work since they started theircompany,” Collins said in a statement. “I jumped at the chance to join this powerhouse group they are now leading and look forward to a long relationship with them and their amazing team at SPT.”

Besides executive producing the successful “Dance Moms” franchise, Collins recently served as president of Catalina Content, overseeing projects such as “The Mighty Underdogs” at Discovery+ and specials as part of the true crime series “Snapped: Notorious” at Peacock. That company was also behind Oxygen’s “Serial Killer Capital: Baton Rouge.”

Collins launched Catalina Content as a Sky/Comcast-backed production company and sister to Jupiter Entertainment. Before that, he ran Collins Avenue for 11 years, and exec produced eight seasons of “Dance Moms,” as well as eight spinoffs and specials and more than 20 other programs.

Collins’ other credits include leading the U.S. office of September Films, with shows including WEtv’s “Bridezilla” and A&E’s “Billy the Exterminator.” Collins has also served as a showrunner and director on various series including Lifetime’s“How Clean is Your House?,” The WB’s“Survival of the Richest” and Discovery’s“The Pregnant Man.” Collins began his career at “Entertainment Tonight,” and then later as VP of Leeza Gibbons Enterprises (LGE).
