Natasha Lyonne is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The actor, best known for the TV shows “Russian Doll” and “Poker Face,” has been cast in Disney’s upcoming “The Fantastic Four” reboot. It’s not clear who Lyonne will portray in the comic book adventure.

Created for Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, “The Fantastic Four” centers around Marvel’s First Family. This iteration of the superhero quartet will star Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (aka the Thing). Other already-announced cast members include Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer, Paul Walter-Hauser and John Malkovich.

Matt Shakman, whose credits include “WandaVision,” is directing “The Fantastic Four” from a script by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, Eric Pearson and Ian Springer. Production is expected to begin this summer and the film is scheduled to land in theaters on July 25, 2025.

The Fantastic Four has appeared in several movies, but this version will integrate the foursome into the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time since Disney acquired Fox in 2019. Previously the movie rights belonged to 20th Century Fox, which made three films — 2005’s “Fantastic Four” and 2007’s sequel “Rise of the Silver Surfer, as well as the ill-fated 2015 reboot — with the characters.

Lyonne rose to fame in indies like 1998’s “Slums of Beverly Hills” and 1999’s “But I’m a Cheerleader,” as well as the 1999 teen comedy “American Pie.” Up next, she’s starring in director Taika Waititi’s adaptation of the novel “Klara and Sun,” alongside Amy Adams and Jenna Ortega. She’ll also be in “His Three Daughters,” a comedic drama that Netflix acquired for $7 million at last year’s Toronto Film Festival.

Deadline was first to report news of Lyonne’s casting.
