Mattel TV Studios Taps Three Key Creative Execs, Including Bad Robot’s Cory Bennett Lewis as Head of Production

Mattel Television Studios has tapped three new executives for key roles: Sidney Clifton as head of creative for animation, Cory Bennett Lewis as head of production, and Amy Suh as head of creative for live action, scripted and unscripted.

The trio of execs will report directly to Mattel Television Studios chief Michelle Mendelovitz.

As we together build a home for best-in-class creators, taking Mattel’s iconic IP to make innovative, inspiring, and entertaining television series that reflect the diverse and inclusive world we live in for our muti-generational fans, I look forward to the amazing work this exceptionally talented, female-led studio will do.”

Clifton most recently served as producer and senior vice president of animation and mixed media at The Jim Henson Company. Prior to The Jim Henson Company, she held roles at Deluxe Animation Studios, Riot Games, Bento Box Entertainment and Film Roman Animation.

Bennett Lewis was most recently head of production at J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot, overseeing all aspects of production, visual effects and post-production. Lewis managed and produced projects including “Lovecraft Country” for HBO, “Lisey’s Story” and “Little Voice” for Apple and “Castle Rock” for Hulu.

Suh most recently served as a senior development executive in co-production development for Amazon Studios. Prior to joining Amazon, Suh was at Sony Pictures Television and previously Fox Networks Group.

Mattel Television Studios is premiering 16 series/specials this year with 14 series/specials currently in production. The largely animation-focused studio is set on expanding its projects based on iconic IP including Barbie, Hot Wheels, Barney, Bob The Builder, Polly Pocket, Thomas & Friends, Masters of the Universe and Monster High into premium scripted, unscripted and documentary projects.
