Paula Patton will guest star on an upcoming episode of Fox’s drama series “Murder in a Small Town.”
She will play Dr. Elizabeth Lewis, a brilliant and successful psychiatrist who arrives at the Gibsons Police Station offering insights that can help Karl Alberg (Rossif Sutherland) apprehend a dangerous fugitive murderer (one of Lewis’ former patients) who is believed to be hiding in the area.
Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk lead the show, which is based on a nine-book novel series by L.R. Wright. It follows a man who moves to a quiet Pacific Northwest coastal town to soothe a psyche that has been battered by big-city police work, but must solve murders that continue washing up on its seemingly idyllic shore.
Other guest stars include James Cromwell, Stana Katic, Mya Lowe, Savonna Spracklin, Aaron Douglas and Fritzy-Klevans Destine. The project marks Fox’s first scripted series co-produced with an international studio.
Most recently, Patton wrapped shooting the second season of the BET+ legal thriller series “Sacrifice,” a spin-off of the film of the same name. Patton plays Daniella Hernandez,a sought-after entertainment lawyer who navigates the nefarious lives of her rich and famous clients. She co-executive produced the first season, and will executive produce the second.
Patton made her film debut starring opposite Will Smith in the Sony comedy film “Hitch,” directed by Andy Tennant. She later starred in “Precious” opposite Gabourey Sidibe, for which she and the cast were nominated for a SAG Award for their work as an ensemble.
Patton’s other acting credits include “Déjà Vu,” “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” “2 Guns,” “Swing Vote,” “Warcraft: The Beginning” and “Jumping the Broom.”
Behind the scenes, Patton produced the 2016 romantic comedy “Perfect Match” and Lionsgate’s “Traffik,” which she also starred in.
