Paramount+ Unveils Pricing Details

Paramount+ has announced the schedule and pricing for its international ad-supported Basic subscription offering and Premium plan, both set to begin this month in selected countries.

The ad-supported Basic plan will be available in April in Canada and in June in Australia, priced at $6.99 in Canadian and Australian dollars. The Paramount+ Premium plan will begin its rollout in Europe, beginning with France in March. The Basic plan will provide subscribers with access to Paramount+’s Mountain of Entertainment offer, which includes what the company describes as “all the most anticipated series and films on the platform,” such as “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” the first and second seasons of “Halo,” the new eight-episode original series “A Gentleman in Moscow,” the new season of “Mayor of Kingstown,” “Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie” and the “Sonic the Hedgehog” spin-off “Knuckles” as well as the A-League/AFC Champions League and more in Australia.

The Premium plan, available in France for €10.99 ($11.92) a month or €97.99 a year, offers films, series and exclusive originals in quality formats, including 4K UHD, HDR10, and Dolby Vision. Premium subscribers can also stream on up to four devices at once, twice the number available with the Standard plan, available in France for €7.99 a month.

UFA Serial Drama Chief Steps Down

Joachim Kosack, managing director of UFA Serial Drama, is leaving UFA on July 31. Current co-managing director Markus Brunnemann will oversee the management of UFA Serial Drama in addition to his duties as co-managing director of UFA Fiction. Kosack has been with the UFA group for 28 years.

UFA CEO Sascha Schwingel said: “I would like to thank Joachim Kosack for his tireless commitment in various positions and areas at UFA. For almost 30 years, Joachim has made a significant contribution to the company’s success both creatively and commercially and always particularly supporting young talent.

UFA Serial Drama produces long-running, daily series such as “Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten” (“Good Times, Bad Times”), “Alles was Zählt” (“All That Matters”) and “Unter Uns.” The division is additionally further expanding its kids segment with new shows like “Spotlight” and “Skatepark,” a “Good Times, Bad Times” spin-off.
