WME has promoted Braden Currier to partner within the agency’s unscripted TV department.
Currier began his career at WME in 2010 as an intern before becoming an assistant and rising through the ranks via the company’s agent trainee program. He was promoted to agent in 2016.
Currier represents both production companies and talent, as well as packaged unscripted shows. Alongside creator and producer Elan Gale, he put together “FBoy Island,” which ran for two seasons on Max before being canceled, then helped move the series to the CW for a third season. At the CW, he also set up the spinoff series “FGirl Island,” which was later rebranded into “Lovers and Liars.”
On behalf of production company Dirty Robber, Currier brokered the deal to place the docuseries “Heist” at Netflix. He also represents former NFL player Marshawn Lynch, and closed Lynch’s deal to join the “Thursday Night Football” broadcast team at Amazon Prime Video as a special correspondent.
Also among Currier’s clients are Smuggler Entertainment (“Messi Meets America,” “Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend”, Cream Productions (“History of the Sitcom”) and October Films (“Diana” and “First Ladies”).
WME’s unscripted TV department is led by co-heads Amir Shahkhalili and David Sherman. The department represents banners such as Kinetic Content (“Love Is Blind”), Eureka Productions (“The Floor”), Scout Productions (“Queer Eye”), A. Smith & Co. Productions (“American Ninja Warrior”) and ITV Studios (“Hell’s Kitchen,” “Love Island”). Unscripted talent represented at WME includes the Kardashian family (“The Kardashians”), Nicole Byer (“Nailed It!”), Rob McElhenney (“Welcome to Wrexham”), Rachel Maddow (“The Rachel Maddow Show”), Michael Strahan (“Good Morning America”), and Robin Roberts (“Good Morning America”).
