‘Invincible’: Second Half of Season 2 Sets Premiere Date at Prime Video

No more thinking required, Mark! The second half of “Invincible‘s” second season will fly its way into Amazon’s Prime Video on March 14 – the 21st anniversary of the inception of the comic book that inspired it.

Prime Video plans to premiere the second half of its eight-episode second season in March – with four new weekly episodes.

“based on the groundbreaking comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, the story revolves around 18-year-old Mark Grayson, who’s just like every other guy his age—except his father is (or was) the most powerful superhero on the planet,” reads the show’s logline. “Still reeling from Nolan’s betrayal in Season 1, Mark struggles to rebuild his life as he faces a host of new threats, all while battling his greatest fear – that he might become his father without even knowing it.”

The show stars Steven Yeun (Mark Grayson/Invincible), J.K. Simmons (Nolan Grayson/Omni-Man), Sandra Oh (Debbie Grayson), Zazie Beetz (Amber Bennett), Grey DeLisle (Shrinking Rae), Chris Diamantopoulos (Doc Seismic), Walton Goggins (Cecil Stedman) Gillian Jacobs (Atom Eve), Jason Mantzoukas (Rex Splode), Ross Marquand (Immortal), Khary Payton (Black Samson), Zachary Quinto (Rudy Connors), Andrew Rannells (William Clockwell), Kevin Michael Richardson (Mauler Twins) and Seth Rogen (Allen the Alien).

The first half of Season Two received the Rotten Tomatoes Golden Tomato Awardfor best-animated series and continues to be “Certified Fresh” with a 100% score. The first season ended with similar praise, landing a score of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. It was nominated for an Annie Award, an online Film and Television Association Award and a Hollywood Critics Association Award, with Yeun and Simmons both nominated for an OFTA Television Award for best voice-over performance, among others.

The show is executive produced by Kirkman, Walker, David Alpert, Catherine Winder, Simon Racioppa, Margaret M. Dean, Rogen and Evan Goldberg, while Helen Leigh and Maude Lewis serve as producers.
