Hot off of a suave Bond-inspired performance of “Butter” at the Grammys, global pop giant BTS has taken over the bustling city of Las Vegas for a two-weekend extravaganza at Allegiant Stadium. For weeks, fans have flooded social media to share tips, talk show strategy and display their carefully curated concert looks. Opening with the intense choreography of power anthem “On,” energy levels soared until the seven members closed with a raucously jubilant performance of “Permission to Dance.”
From number to number, the crowd remained enraptured by a kinetic spirit heightened through fan chants and a veritable light show coordinated through lightsticks, affectionately termed ARMY bombs. The occasional quiet moment also populated a neon-drenched night. Livelier songs were broken up by vulnerable performances of hits like “Blue & Grey” and “Life Goes On.” An evocative intro to “Black Swan” saw white-sleeved dancers gracefully transition into formations behind each member in order to mimic wings.
The stage hasn’t been the only thing BTS is lighting up in Vegas (like dynamite, of course). Fan-focused activations have appeared all over the Strip in celebration of the band. Events include themed hotel rooms, concert afterparties at Jewel nightclub, a special show at the Bellagio Fountain and more. A pop-up hosted at Area15 includes both a paid photo exhibition and a free merch store complete with photo ops specifically recalling “Butter,” “Dynamite” and “Permission to Dance.”

The Las Vegas Strip celebrates BTS with “Borahaegas” marquees. The term is a play on “borahae,” which means “I purple you” and has become a calling card for ARMY.
