The Curtis Brown Group has launched a new unscripted and entertainment talent division, tapping former YMU agent Martha Atack to lead it.
The division will offer artists across entertainment, comedy, factual and digital multi-hyphenate representation across the agency with the aim of launching them globally. Existing Curtis Brown Group clients, ranging from comedians to thought leaders, will be brought together under the inaugural U&E umbrella, which will also enable acting clients the chance to break out into new areas and explore unscripted and entertainment opportunities.
Current clients include “Loki” actor Richard E. Grant – who last year hosted the BAFTA Film Awards – as well as former “The Great British Bake-Off” presenter Sue Perkins, newly-anointed “This Morning” anchor Cat Deeley, artist Grayson Perry and comedian London Hughes, among others.
Unveiling the new division, Curtis Brown Group also announced a host of new clients. As well as actor Emily Atack (Disney+’s upcoming “Rivals”), which PvNew exclusively revealed on Tuesday, the latest signings include Mercury-nominated musician Kojey Radical and radio broadcasters Yasmin Evans and Greg James.
“It’s a privilege to be overseeing a new era of unscripted and entertainment talent representation at Curtis Brown Group,” Martha Atack said in a statement. “The agents I get to work with every day are world class and I’ve never felt more confident in our collective ability to offer talent a 360-service across many areas of expertise. We will focus on multi-hyphenate talent who want to create and star in their own vehicles, as well as digital-first emerging talent, while tapping into CBG’s deep bench of unscripted IP and partnering with the best producers to develop premium unscripted, factual and entertainment content.”
Curtis Brown Group CEO Jonny Geller added: “The moment I met Martha, I knew she would be the perfect fit for CBG and our partners, UTA. Her vision and energy will take one of the best performing parts of our business to even greater heights. We are so proud of what Jacquie Drewe, Debi Allen, Meryl Hoffman, Tiffany Agbeko and the team have achieved these past five years and look forward to providing more opportunities for the top-tier flight of U.K. talent who want to benefit from all the advantages of a full-service international talent and literary agency.”
