The Love Rocks NYC Benefit Concert has become an annual New York tradition and Thursday night’s show at the Beacon Theatre was one of the best on record, raising $3.8 million for the God’s Love We Deliver charity with performances and/or appearances from Dave Grohl, the Black Keys, Hozier, Nile Rodgers, Tom Morello, Don Felder, Bettye LaVette, Joss Stone, Allison Russell, Emily King, Marcus King, Lucius, Larkin Poe, Trombone Shorty, Luke Spiller, Quinn Sullivan, andBernie William.

This year’s concert raised$3.8 million,which will allow God’s Love We Deliver to serve380,000meals for New Yorkers living with severe illnesses. Since launching in 2017, the concerts have brought together a formidable lineup of talent, raising$33.8 million to dateandhelping to fund 3.8 million meals.

“God’s Love We Deliver is unique in New York City – we are the only non-profit provider of medically tailored meals. We started as an AIDS services organization nearly 39 years ago, and now we cook and home deliver medically tailored meals, to people living with more than 200 different diagnoses,” saidCEO David Ludwigson.

The evening launched with hostConan O’Brientaking the stage with his guitar and his longtime friend and band leaderJimmy Vivino,singing a rendition of Elvis Presley’s “Suspicious Minds,” and the show was off and running with artists performing backed by the stellar house band, led by veteran bassist Will Lee. Bettye LaVette sang a rousing version of “Things Have Changed”; Nile Rodgerskept the audience on its feet with Chic-helmed hits like “We Are Family” and “Good Times”;Marcus King played some blazing blues licks; the Black Keysroared through their hits “Howlin For You” and “Lonely Boy”; and Grohl roared even louder with “Everlong” and “Live and Let Die.”The night concluded with an all-star performance of “Let’s Dance.”
