‘I’ll Crush Y’All,’ Spanish Action Hit, Picked Up for Sales by Black Mandala

New Zealand-based sales and distribution company Black Mandala has picked up international rights to Spanish-language genre film and 2023 festival hit “I’ll Crush Y’All” (aka “Os Reviento”).

Portrayed by Mario Mayo, Gabriel, better known as ‘Tarado,’ is a former boxer who lives in a secluded village outside the city with his father and his dog. He could still box, but to avoid what led him to spend a few years in prison, he prefers to lead a quiet life. The death of his father and the shady dealings he was hiding attract a wide range of characters to his home, each with worse intentions than the last: a brother with a troublesome new girlfriend, an angry admirer, mobsters with dark purposes, and thugs looking for a stolen bag of money.

It debuted at the FantasticFest in September and won the audience prize at both FantasticFest and the Sitges genre film festival. Mayo also won best acting prizes at the Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre and SModCastle festivals.

Directed by Kike Narcera, the film was an independent production by JAR Producciones, Bruno Martín, The OtherSide Films, Loniego Films, and Gamera Studios, made on a budget of less than EUR1 million.

The cast includes Antonio Mayans, Ana Márquez, Miguel Lago Casal, Manuel Huedo, Rut Santamaría, Fernando Gil, Raúl Gimenez, Diego París, Esteban Balbi, Fabia Castro, Diego Moreno, Manuel Galea, Benja de la Rosa and Kaco Forns. Mandala says that Rut Santamaría puts in “a brief but impactful appearance,” alongside Javier Botet and Lone Fleming, stars of Spanish genre cinema.

The film’s soundtrack was composed by Daniel Maldonado, aka “Sam,” while film editing is by Ángel Plana (“La Comunidad,” “A Ciegas,” “Azuloscurocasinegro,” “Volver”) and special effects were provided by Reyes Abades Effectos Especiales, winner of 9 Goya Awards in the effects category.

“The film had an outstanding festival tour and is still running with new events still being added, including the upcoming Fantasporto,” said Black Mandala’s Michael Kraetzer.
