Taylor Swift has arrived to the Golden Globes, where her “Eras Tour” concert film is nominated for cinematic and box office achievement. The music superstar walked the red carpet in a shimmering green gown. Could it be a nod to her “Reputation”-era snakes? Let the fan debate begin!
Cinematic and box office achievement is a new category at this year’s Globes, celebrating films that were particularly well-loved by audiences. Besides “Eras Tour,” the other movies nominated include “Barbie,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” “John Wick: Chapter 4,” “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One,” “Oppenheimer,” “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” and “The Super Mario Bros. Movie.”
“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” premiered in theaters on Oct. 13 after the pop star struck an unprecedented deal with AMC Theatres to distribute the film. It soon became the highest-grossing concert movie of all time, earning over $250 million worldwide, and the 10th highest-grossing film of the year. The film documents Swift’s record-breaking tour of the same name, allowing fans to watch a condensed version of the show without paying the sky-high ticket prices.
PvNew music critic Chris Willman praised “Eras Tour” in his review, writing: “A healthy balance is struck between knowing there’s a hell of a lot to take in in this stage production and knowing that the thing we most want to take in is Swift herself, constantly acting out the lyrics for quick hits of comedy or tragedy … or just captured in her runway-strut mode.”
