New Kids on the Block’s Joey McIntyre is returning to the award-winning “Drag: The Musical.”
McIntyre reprises the role of Tom Hutchinson, which he originated in the 2022 launch of the show.
“Drag: The Musical” will run at the Bourbon Room in Hollywood March 15-30 before its New York City debut in the fall.
“RuPaul’s Drag Race” star icon Manila Luzon will also be making her “Drag: The Musical” debut in the role of Popcorn Scampi.
“Drag: The Musical,” about two rival drag bars that go head-to-head amidst financial troubles, was written by “RuPaul’s Drag Race” star Alaska Thunderfuck, Tomas Costanza and Ashley Gordon.
“I think I might be this show’s biggest fan and I’m psyched to do it again with this amazing cast at my favorite new venue, The Bourbon Room. Let’s go!” McIntyre said in statement Thursday morning.
Manila said, “Theater is the perfect place for a drag queen and I’m so excited to grace ‘Drag: The Musical’ with my beauty, wit, and humor. My castmates have already made the show a success, so I’m excited to play with them. Did I mention how excited I am to grace the show with my beauty? LOL!”
McIntyre and Manila join previously announced cast members Thunderfuck, Nick Adams, Jujubee, Jan Sport, Lagoona Bloo, Nick Laughlin, Jamie Torcellini, J. Elaine Marcos and Kayden Koshelev.
“Drag” was named best new play or musical at the 2022 BroadwayWorld Los Angeles Awards and won the 2023 Queerties Award for Live Theater.
