‘Good Burger’ Star Kel Mitchell Recovering After ‘Frightening’ Medical Incident

“Good Burger” star Kel Mitchell is “on the road to recovery” after a “frightening” medical incident that reportedly left him hospitalized in Los Angeles, the actor said in a statement posted to Instagram.

“Grateful for the flood of prayers and positive vibes that surrounded me during a genuinely frightening time,” Mitchell wrote. “The scare was real, but so was the support.”

Mitchell did not disclose the specifics of his medical incident, but continued, “With the grace of God and the skill of the medical team, I’m not on the road to recovery at home, embraced by the love of my family. Your kindness has been a lifeline, and I can’t thank you enough. Much love to each of you.”

Celebrities including Yvette Nicole Brown, Damon Wayans Jr. and Mitchell’s “Good Burger” co-star Kenan Thompson expressed their support in the comments section. Brown wrote, “Glad you’re on the mend, friend!,” and Wayans added, “Glad you’re feeling better my brother.”

Thompson and Mitchell are reuniting after more than 25 years for the sequel to their beloved 1997 comedy, “Good Burger.” The follow-up, which drops on Paramount+ on Nov. 22, sees Ed and Dex teaming up to fight a mega corporation taking over the fast-food restaurant and replacing employees with robots.

The movie is directed by Phil Traill and written by Kevin Kopelow, Heath Seifert and James III. Jillian Bell, Lil Rel Howery, Josh Server, Alex R. Hibbert and Lori Beth Denberg also star, along with celebrity cameos from Rob Gronkowski and Mark Cuban.
