Tubi, Fox Corp.’s ad-supported streaming service, recruited ad-sales veteran Jeff Lucas as chief revenue officer.
Lucas takes over the role from former Tubi CRO Mark Rotblat, who will remain with Fox Corp. focusing on adRise, the company’sdistribution and monetization platform for connected TVs. At Tubi, Lucas will report to Jeff Collins, president of advertising sales for Fox Corp.
Most recently, Lucas was chief revenue officer at Firework, a New York-based video commerce platform with more than 1,000 clients across 37 countries. Before that, he was head of North America sales and global client solutions at Verizon Media. From 2016-18, he was VP and global head of sales forSnapchatparent companySnap.
Prior to that, Lucas led sales and marketing for all of Viacom’s media networks, including MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon, and before that served as president, advertising sales and marketing at NBCUniversal’s cable group.
Anjali Sud, who joined as CEO of Tubi last year, commented, “As advertisers struggle to reach cord-cutters and cord-nevers on traditional TV, Tubi is uniquely positioned to reach this next generation of audiences. Jeff brings industry-leading experience and a stellar track record that bridges traditional media with digital, and we’re thrilled to be adding him to our leadership bench.”
Tubi last week unveiled a brand redesign with a new visual identity and sonic ID. Fox Corp. CEO Lachlan Murdoch, in announcing the company’s fiscal Q1 2024 earnings, touted Tubi’s performance for calendar year 2023. He said Tubi boosted total view time 62% while growing revenue 17%.
In the U.S., Tubi offers a lineup of more than 240,000 movies and TV episodes. The company expects to launch in the U.K. this summer. That could be followed by Tubi’s rollout in additional European markets under the leadership of EVP of international David Salmon, former CTO of Endeavor Streaming.
