Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ Movie: Cinemark Offering Private Theaters for $800

Have you ever wanted to attend a private Taylor Swift concert?

Well, Cinemark is offering moviegoers a chance to rent out auditoriums to watch the filmed version of Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour,” which hits theaters on Oct. 13. Private Swiftie Parties, as the theater rentals have been dubbed, cost $800 (plus taxes and fees) and can accommodate up to 40 people. That may sound like a lot of cash, but remember that some Swifties paid as much for a single concert ticket to the popstar’s epic arena tour.

“We are excited to offer fans the ultimate ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’ concert film VIP experience in their own private Cinemark auditorium,” said Wanda Gierhart Fearing, Cinemark’s chief marketing and content officer. “We are wonderstruck by this event’s sensational ticket sales and are thrilled to add a new era to our fan-favorite Private Watch Parties with our Private Swiftie Parties. Our larger-than-life screens and captivating surround sound deliver a most enchanting environment to sing and dance along with friends and family to the concert of the decade.”

Swift’s “Eras Tour” concert film, a rendering of her record-breaking stadium tour, is also shattering benchmarks at the (theatrical) box office. It’s already earned a massive $26 million in presale tickets, setting a single-day record for AMC Theatres, the film’s official distributor and the world’s biggest cinema chain. Because of early demand, exhibitors believe this film has the potential to open to $100 million-plus, which is unprecedented business for this kind of movie. In fact, only five films this year — “Barbie,” “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” — have hit triple digits in their debuts.

Outside of private theater rentals, prices are Swiftie-coded with standard tickets at $19.89 for adults, $13.13 for children and seniors.
