Series Mania and Taiwan Content Agency to Launch Serial Bridges Event

Series Mania Institute, the first school entirely dedicated to series, and Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), Wednesday announced launch next year of Serial Bridges, a workshop event, in France and Taiwan.

The first workshop will begin in March at Series Mania (Mar. 15-21, 2023, 2024) in Lille, France, and conclude at the Taiwan Creative Content Fest in November 2024.

The Serial Bridges workshop is open to six writer-producer duos with a series project. Of the 12 participants selected, half will come from Taiwan and the other half from other East Asian countries. Series Mania Institute says the workshop follows its established methodology of learning by doing.

Participating duos will work on their projects with recognized professionals from the serial industry over four sessions between March and November 2024 and present their series projects at TCCF 2024.

Training will cover topics including; the keys to strengthening dramaturgical skills; the understanding of international financing systems; and the ability to find co-production opportunities for their projects – between Taiwan and Europe, and within East Asia.

The detailed plans follow a partnership initiated between Series Mania and TAICCA in 2022. Series Mania Institute is building an array of international workshops though such partnerships. Its most recent one, in Rio de Janeiro, was a partnership with RioFilme, Projeto Paradiso, Rio Film Festival, SICAV, FIRJAN, Institut Fran ais de Paris and the French Embassy in Brazil.

“The launch of a workshop aimed at East Asian professionals is in line with the continuity of our industrial and cultural cooperation with TAICCA, with the objective to strengthen Taiwan s position as an international creative hub. We’re delighted to be able to put our school’s expertise at the service of the development of international co-productions, which is a real recognition of our know-how, said Laurence Herszberg, MD of Series Mania.

TAICCA is a public-funded organization with the mission of strengthening the cultural content industry ecosystem in Taiwan, promoting Taiwanese contents and creating regional and international collaborations and co-production opportunities. TAICCA s initiatives include investment, training and accelerator programs, international co-production support, industry and market research and analysis and global marketing.
