Viral cook and bestselling author Alison Roman is launching her own podcast.
“Solicited Advice with Alison Roman” is debuting today via the Talkhouse Podcast Network and will be available on all podcast platforms. The weekly program is described as a discussion between Roman and “a special guest who, like her, enjoys giving and/or receiving advice. Together they’ll answer questions from live and recorded callers, covering everything from cooking to modern dating, awkward neighbor interactions, how to order a martini with confidence and more.”
The first episode was released Thursday, and new episodes will drop every Thursday. Upcoming guests on “Solicited Advice” include Tinx, Cat Cohen, Raven Smith, Heléne Yorke and more.
“I am so excited to have a better, deeper, wide-reaching platform to answer the questions I get on a daily basis, and to talk about something other than cooking (I contain multitudes!) with some of the funniest and smartest people I know,” Roman said in a statement. “It’s long been my dream to follow in Delilah’s footsteps, to stand on the shoulders of ‘Car Talk’ – here’s hoping this podcast comes close to either.”
Roman has written about food for Bon Appétit, Buzzfeed Food and New York Times Cooking. She also has penned several bestselling cookbooks, including 2019’s “Nothing Fancy” and this year’s dessert tome “Sweet Enough.” She also created the YouTube series “Home Movies,” and writes the bi-weekly missive “A Newsletter.”
Talkhouse Podcast Network includes shows such as “How Long Gone,” “Björk: Sonic Symbolism” and “Noble Champions With Santigold.”
Ian Wheeler, the founder of Talkhouse Podcast Network, praised Roman in a statement, saying, “Alison is a singular voice who speaks to so much more than just food. We couldn’t be more excited to work alongside her wonderful team on this show.”
