Aiming to grow its global direct-to-consumer distribution, Paramount+ has set the international rollout plans for its premium and ad tier subscriptions following a launch across more than 45 markets last year.

The premium planwill launch inAustralia, Brazil, Canada and Mexico on Nov. 16, before bowing in additional markets at a later stage. It will boast Paramount’s blockbusters, exclusive originals and hit shows in 4K UHD, HDR10, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Premium subscribers will also be able to tap intofour concurrent streams, instead of the two streams that come with the standard plan.

The advertising tier, meanwhile, will roll out in select international markets, includingAustralia and Canada, starting in 2024. In Mexico and Brazil, Paramount+ will keep its mobile-only streaming subscription which launched in April.

Marco Nobili, the exec VP and international general manager for Paramount+, said the company was “focused on scaling (its) business and providing customer choice” after having expanded its global footprint last year.

“Following the launch of the Mobile plan in Mexico and Brazil, the introduction of the premium and ad-supported plans will give us the ability to better serve different consumer segments by providing multiple pricing options while also tapping into tremendous opportunities among our advertising and brand partners,” said Nobili.

While at Mipcom where he was honored as Personality of the Year, Paramount GlobalCEOBob Bakish told PvNew‘s co-editor in chief Cynthia Littleton that Paramount “is adjusting to the economic transition from linear cable to operating its own subscription streaming and free ad-supported platforms, with Paramount+ with Showtime and Pluto TV, respectively.”
