Well, that didn’t last long.
It appeared that the reign of “Suits” on the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 had finally come to a close during the Sept. 11-17 viewing window, when “Virgin River” bumped it to the second most-streamed title of the week after 12 weeks on top. But “Virgin River” fell to third place during the Sept. 18-24 window, while “Elemental” rose to second place, leaving the No. 1 position open again for “Suits” with 1.8 billion minutes watched.
“Virgin River’s” slide to No. 3 was expected, as Sept. 18-24 marked the second week of full availability of Season 5 Part 1. The series was watched for a still impressive 1.2 billion minutes this window. The final two episodes of Season 5 will release on Netflix on Nov. 30.
“Elemental” scored third place with its Disney+ debut last week after releasing in theaters earlier this year. In its first full week of streaming availability, the movie was watched for 1.3 billion minutes.
Fourth place went to “Bluey” — as it often does. The animated preschool series was watched for 856 million minutes this viewing window, and was followed by chart regulars “Grey’s Anatomy” (No. 5 with 779 million minutes watched), “S.W.A.T.” (No. 6 with 692 million minutes watched) and “NCIS” (No. 7 with 686 million minutes). Ninth and tenth place also went to acquired titles: “Gilmore Girls” (631 million minutes), which often returns to popularity during the fall months, and animated preschool series “Cocomelon” (605 million minutes).
But a streaming original took eighth place: “Sex Education,” with 634 million minutes watched in the first four days of availability of its fifth season.
